S. Jakarta Mayor Warns Residents to Beware of Landslides

Mayor of South Jakarta, Tri Kurniadi warned residents living in the riverbanks to beware of landslides along the rainy season lately.

"I've told regional heads to urge people in the riverbanks to be more vigilant. Because our city now is prone to landslides during rainy season," he stated, Monday (2/20).

Landslides Struck Sheet Pile in Ciganjur

He mentioned, there are five landslide-prone points because they are on the cliffs and riverbanks. Those points are Ciganjur, Lenteng Agung, Tanjung Barat, Pejaten and Pondok Labu.

"Ideally, the house distance with riverbank must be at least eight meters. This is to prevent landslides," he finished.
